We went to Yogi Bear CG this weekend that is usually close to full and it appeared to be about 60% full. I asked one of the "rangers" and he said the only weekend they had been full this year was Memorial Day and the rest of the time it was pretty slow. We were wondering what the rest of you had noticed?

We were camping last weekend and the campground was maybe half full. They had one whole area for TT and 5th that had no one in it. The area mostly for PUP was at best 1/3 full. At the time we thought it just was because it was the weekend after Memorial Day. We were there a year ago this weekend and the entire campground was full. Much different picture this year.
We will be heading out on 3 major trips this summer to OBX, Maine and Ft WIlderness. We also will camp locally a few times close to home.

Lake Thunderbird SP in Norman, OK was 85% full this weekend. Memorial Day weekend it was full on Friday afternoon early.
I don't know how busy they were last year at this time, but it seems to be a heavily used campground.
I checked into making reservations at COE parks near Branson, MO and the one I wanted was full for the time period I wanted it.

Ditto here in PA. We just about had the whole area to ourselves. A few one night travelers at this KOA but not too many weekend campers. Maybe the CG's are feeling the fuel price crunch.

DW visited her parents at their seasonal site today at Gettysburg CG and she said they won't crowded at all.
She enjoyed a day at the pool with her family.
We head to Gettysburg CG next weekend but I hope there are some campers I can talk with !!!

We were at a campground/waterpark combo this weekend and I think I only counted about 5 other transients in the park, park models aside. Definitely really quiet.

I thought it seemed pretty weak this weekend down by IN Beach and at Prophetstown in Lafayette, IN. I know there were a ton of storms that hit and were threatening to hit again, so maybe that had something to do with it. As for Memorial Weekend....IN state parks were filled to capacity. I guess time will tell once all the schools let out for the year and once summertime really kicks in.

Last weekend we were out and it was not full at all. Think the prices for fuel have anythig to do about it?

We stayed at a small state park fairly close to home. It was maybe 1/3 full. Lots of sites had reservation tickets posted, but no oner showed up. We think the price is gas has affected camping in our area.
