Hello everyone!
My husband and I are planning a big family campout and bbq soon. So far we have a good chunk of a campground reserved for family. We are looking for ideas for games and activities for both the adults and children. So far we have around 10 children coming from the age of 5 and up. The site we will be on already has a horseshoe pit, so we are bringing our horseshoes, and we have two sets of ring toss games. So my question is what other games or activities are good to keep everyone busy? I was thinking of making a scavenger hunt or something like that too. Any ideas will be most welcome!
Many thanks!

Pinatas are fun, fill it with goodies and the kids will enjoy that.
Whiffle ball, foot ball, birdie w/ racquet's are all easy to bring and take care of themselves.

Don't forget the UNO cards and regular decks. We have had some intense UNO games over the years.

Look around for a game called Apples to Apples. It is a word game where players try to convince others that the word card they played matches the judge's card. This game is better for mixed ages than any I have seen. We have it at Target here.
Also, I highly recommend a bocce set. Great fun in a forest or on a beach.

I am not sure where you get it, but ladder golf is fun for all ages except for real little ones.

Ladder golf (by some other name) is now sold at Walmart -- not too expensive, either.
Some of my fondest memories of camping with extended family were playing a card game called Pit. It was a riot, but make sure to play before quiet hour. It is very lively, and suitable for about ages 8 and up to adult.
You can also buy portable volleyball sets. They can be a lot of fun if you have a group.
Bring a soccer ball -- kids and teens enjoy kicking one around even if they don't play a game.

I second the Ladder Ball game. It can be purchased @ Walmart for less than $20. A game for all ages.

On our last camping trip, our boys taught us Spoons and BS. Spoons was really fun and a fast moving game. BS is hilarious!
We also like to play 31 and Phase 10.
