When fishing at Reelfoot Lake near Tiptonville, TN, we like to get ribs at Boyette's BBQ.

My short list of notable rib joints ...
Tom Jenkins in Ft. Lauderdale ( the best sauce I have eaten ) .
Georgia Pig in Brunswick , GA .
Porky's Bayside in Marathon, FL Keys ( not expecting much but , was pleasantly surprised )
Memphis Blues in Mechanicsburg , PA .
These are all really good but , some of the best are the ones (not bragging ) I have been making at home , smoked low and slow for six hours ...

They say this place in Cincinnati is World famous for ribs. I'll see this weekend

and, According to Restaurants & Institutions Magazine, the restaurant industry's leading trade publication, Montgomery Inn is the #1 independent rib restaurant and the #1 independent restaurant featuring barbecue in the entire United States.

I like going there when we go to visit relatives in Cincy. The ribs are awesome. The one on the river is very cool because you will see people from tuxes and evening gowns to shorts and t-shirts and a great view of the river. It is quite funny to watch the people all dressed up trying not to get dirty while eating ribs.

We also bring home several bottles of sauce.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll be checking many of them out. Especially those that have had more than one poster mention.

County Line (Austin) ain't bad either.

Ah . . . County Line. Pretty good mass produced ribs! As opposed to the small family-run single outlet style joint. County Lines can be found in Houston, Austin & San Antonio as well as other spots around the Lone Star State. You guys up in the Memphis/KC area and the Carolinas/Deep South don't know what you are missing.

By the way, Butcher's Korner, Nederland, TX is my local favorite.

Couldn't tell ya who's got the best, and I can see EVERYONE thinks the one around the corner from them is the best, I'm sure they are all great places for ribs. Around these parts the place to go is Frankie's Place for Ribs in Virginia Beach... (Don't forget to order the Onion Loaf!!)
