Not sure where to post this and it is probably a newbie question so I figured I would try here. I noticed that our fridge does not keep up very well when being used (opening and closing during meal prep) and was hoping to find something that could help. Thanks

Nothing really helps these small fridge's when you constantly open and close the door. Getting in the habit of closing it 'right' away is the key.
You can't leave it open and 'slowly' take out all the stuff you need to make dinner. Get in and out as fast as you can!
Buy yourself the small battery operated fan from camping world, they work for help keeping the temps the same top and bottom, which it the real problem with RV fridge's.
I put mine on the bottom of the fridge and it does help.

Yes they do. A very good accessory to have. RV fridges operate best with air freely circulating. These fans help that a lot, and can increase the effciency of the unit considerably.

I too use the FridgeCool battery powered fan. When I first purchased my RV, I noticed that the refrigerator had cold spots, and REALLY cold spots, (where stuff would freeze). Since using the fan I have not had to experience the surprise of frozen milk, and beverages. It works for me.
The fan vent that mounts to the exterior is good for summer, and hot weather camping. It helps increase the efficiency of the refrigerator by increasing the air circulatiing over the cooling fins behind the refrigerator. If you have ever experienced your refrigerator struggling to keep things cold, then one of those would help. I was going to install the solar-cell version on mine.

Yep, I have a fan on the inside of our refrigerator and also the one you linked to for the outside. Yep, they both do a good job keeping the refrigerator's temperature at an acceptable level. I recommend both of the products.

I use the FridgeCool fan and I do believe it helps. Even on the hottest days, our fridge will cool off very well within twelve hours with the little fan running (whereas others have posted that it takes their fridges 24-48 hours to cool off). We've never had any problem with it maintaining temps while camping, regardless of how often the door is opened (however, I do try to stress to the family to not just stand there with the door open taking their sweet time). The batteries seem to last a very long time, too.

The fans do help.
A small 12 volt computer fan blowing or cooling unit is a less expensive way.
Another cheap item to improve efficiency is to restrict the distance between the cooling unit and the exterior wall of rig.
I got some scrap foam board insulation from my local lumber yard. Used Liquid nails to install on exterior wall. "Rvmobile.com" has good description of what is best for ventilation. This did more then the fan.

Along with the small battery frig/fan I also made and installed a DC brushless computer cooling fan that clamps to the refer fins and has a switch and is removable. I found when the frig is fairly full this really helps in getting the air moving inside the frig to even out the temps inside.
This shows the fan mounted to the fins of the refer. It's basically to pieces of al. flat stock that grab the fin. I can also move the fan around on the fans depending on where I want it.

This shows the fan front where I put wire mesh to protect the blades and shows the power plug and jack that makes it removable when not needed along with on/off light switch. This is a 12V DC brushless fan from a computer
