The Escape is another 17' fiberglass trailer. I think it's got a little more headroom than the Casita but I'm not positive. It's also a lot lighter than the Oliver and has a bathroom, shower etc.... durable well made little trailer. And no carpet on the walls, a big bonus on dirt roads and when roughing it!

Check out the Oliver, these things are really light, and have bath, holding tanks and are solidly built!

The 17 ft. Casita has 6'3" interior height if that is a necessity. The 16 ft. and 13 ft. have less interior height.

Tough decision, there are a lot of great trailers out there (and we looked at a bunch of them). We boondock for a week or two at a time in our Oliver, and love it. Dry weight is about 2500, tows really easy, super easy cleanup with zero carpet and gelcoat interior. Lots of tankage for its size, (around 35 each fresh and grey, 20 black) gives you freedom to stay out a little longer than many of the other small, lightweight trailers. 6'1" headroom, abundant interior storage, comes standard with shower, toilet, and sink in bathroom. We got the bigger tires and 4" lift. It's only 17', and the narrower width is really nice on skinny mountain roads with steep ditches & dropoffs.
Good luck with your search! Feel free to PM if you have any questions for an oliver owner, or check out our user forum, Oliverforums.com

Quote: Having said that, though, a "stick built" ultralight (like mine) is hardly the best rig for major boondocking. The fiberglass Eggs are way more durable. But my Fun Finder has 6'3" of headroom, and that is exactly how tall I am. So that is why we did not get a Casita.
All of the Scamp models (13/16' TT and 19' 5W) now have 6'3" headroom.

Some "traditional" small trailers include Fun Finder, Road Runner, ECO and Zoom, Cikira ... just to name a few. These are "stick built" trailers with all the traditional travel trailer amenities.
I thought that most of the fiberglass eggs had casette toilets?

From a fair amount of personal experience and much more internet dialog with other molded fiberglass owners I'd say most of the late model 16 & 17 ft Scamps and Casistas have full baths with toilets and showers although that percentage drops sharply with the 13'ers. Definitely no excess room in there but at 6'3" and the wrong side of 250 I can manage in our 16' side bath Scamp.

I would also say look at the Casitas, they some nice floor plans so the bed is always ready, with a side dinette and chairs. Shadowcruiser also has some floor plans like that and appear to be well built.
