I can not believe only 1 A/C in a TS. I personally would not have an RV over about 28 to 30' with only ona A/C unit.

Measure the inlet and out let temps on the A/C unit. Normally the outlet air should be about 18 to 20 dF lower than the inlet air if it is working properly. Only check it with the fan on high speed.

Next, the voltage guarantee is +/- 10% on the 120 volts, so you can see power as low as 108 volts and still be in spec. In other words the unit should run and function there. You do not notice any apprecible reduction in cooling, but the compressor motor amps goes up and the motor will run hotter and trip from an internal overload.

Next is air flow. Dirty filter and ducts not properly sealed are the cause of this problem.

If your trailer is 30' or more, and in direct sun all day...one A/C will not cool it in 90 dF weather.

Well here is the update on the AC issue and you guys are going to love it. Got the call it was ready on Friday the 27th, met with the service manager and here was his answer: TS has the controls for the heat and AC in a cabinet along with slide out controls and breakers and fuses. There is a sensor on the wall just past the bathroom door that acts as the thermostat. According to the service manager the bathroom was getting so cold and seeing there was no insulation in the wall that the sensor was on, the sensor was made to believe it was cold enough in the coach. I explained to him that could not be the case because if it was the case, the AC would have shut down as if it were at the desired temp, instead it was blowing warm air. I have told the service manager I was camping for 4 days starting on the 2nd of July not far from the dealership and that if it got warm in the coach I would be back to pick him and whom ever else up to come out and fix the problem. I further more stated if I lost any time due to this I would be expecting the dealership to reimburse me my camping expenses

I have read several other threads about AC units not cooling and I have another story to add. I went camping Saturday and was planning on staying till Thursday. The temp in side the coach made it to 97 degrees which was 6 degrees hotter then it was outside. The site was in direct sunlight from sun up to sun down. At night the temp outside dropped and so did the temp inside, in fact one morning I had it down to 64 degrees inside. Needless to say I could take the heat and packed it in early. I have made an appointment with the dealer for the 19th of this month and really don't know what they will be able to do for me. One question I have is why would I have a 50amp service and only 1 AC unit? I have had 6 other campers from small class A's to 5ver's and they have been 30amps. My last 2 fifth wheels (1 32' the other 34') were also 30amp with 1 AC unit and they did fine with the heat,

I would like to hear what your dealer says...would you mind PM'ing me the outcome or posting it here? I am having similar issues with my AC. At this point, we are being more selective on our camping spots to be in the shade. That seems to be the biggest factor regardless.

I walked in a buddies 5er who is running a 13.5 mind you and his rig was 9 degrees cooler than ours yet he was in a heavily shaded site. We were in the direct sun from 9 am til 7 pm. Best we could do was 82 inside, albeit it was 96 outside.

Unfortunately, I think 82 inside when it is 96 outside is about the best you can expect when sitting in full sun, unless you add a second AC unit. Despite all the hype in the factory brochures, etc, these things are not very well insulated unless you buy an expensive, high-end unit with extra insulation. Just a little bit of shade makes a big difference in staying cool when it is really hot.

Well I have thought of this and after a trial run of this supposed fix I have found a 8500 BTU stand alone unit that requires no drain or drain pan that I may purchase

Agreed 100%, I put in a second AC of the weekend!!! did a test in the driveway, no shade, 97 outside or something close to it, both AC's running 70.1 or so in side. Best 800 bucks I have spent in a long time.

Here is the thread about it.
