The stick & brick is finally in escrow and while we don't want anotgehr big house/property we'd love to find a place to occasionally park the RV and have a real house (the DW has some needs).
Ideally it would be an RV community of the type I've seen advertised in the Southeast.
Our preference would be to be in the West, not in California.
Any recommendations?

How about a Park Model in Yuma Foothills area (12'x 33'), on your own lot or a rented lot, your choice.

Have you heard of Havasu Resort. This is one of many located along the Colorado River on the Arizona Side, a little on the pricey side for some looking for this type of place but it looks like it is a well managed and maintained resort. I'm sure there are many more like it throughout Arizona.

Why not build a home in Pahrump. The Artesia development in the South part of the valley has large lots, utilities at the curb and is ok for rv's. Or do you want to move to a new place?

DW's not enthralled with Pahrump which is why that won't be the location.
I appreciate the input so far but most of these are RV Resorts and really want to find an RV community with houses; as that is what she's requiring.

This is a rv resort but with 3 types of houses that are part of the resort community. but seperate. There are park models that run from the 20's to the 40's, houses in the "Bay" that run in the 150,000 range and houses in the "Cove" that run in the 300,000 plus range. When not using your rv, they have an onsite rv storage area. safe travels..bob

You haven't define the climate you are seeking.
We stay the winters in Mesa AZ because of the climate, which is north Sonorian Desert. Tucson and Yuma have simular climates because they are also in the Sonara Desert. Mesa has the advantage of being close to a large Urban area and lots of Snowbird communities, including stick built, manufactured home and RV. We stay in a RV resort with 1900 spaces, there are half a dozen others of the same size in the area. Pacific storms are usually pretty benign by the time they get thru CA, and Gulf Storms usually go into Texaz and New Mexico, the result is nice temp in the winter and few cloudy days, plus the low humidity of the desert.
Boulder City NV is about a thousand feet higher than Mesa and a bit further north so is not quite as pleasant for climate as Mesa but it has several communities with stick built houses with on site RV parking, some with attached RV garages. Also BC has no gambling, you need to drive a few miles to Henderson or Las Vegas for the night life.

Techie,
I don't think there are many, if any, of the tyoes of developments you are seeking in the Southwest. Florida is RIPE with them, but I haven't seen any 'round these here parts!
RV Resorts with large pads, and 'Park Model' homes abound in Arizona. Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort is our favorite. You can buy/rent a space annually, or buy a park model with an RV pad next to it.
The others I am familiar with are places like Outdoor Resorts, where you buy the plot, and build to suit. Still an RV park.
Good luck in your hunt!
Happy Trails!
