Well, I just apologized for offending this member, not a moderator, who felt I was wrong by posting a response to another member's question in this post. No problems.

No, I'm not a moderator, but after reading and clicking through two screens worth of chat totally unrelated to the subject of the thread, I just thought someone ought to politely suggest a more appropriate place for it to continue, if it was going to. That's all. I wasn't offended, nor did I mean to offend.

Okay....... thanks for the responses. I am on several forums and "thread-jacking" is quite common on all of them so I didn't even think twice about the post.... Seems the thread got back on track pretty quickly.
Okay...... back to the original thought on this thread. I haven't found anything as exotic as most of you - but it has been interesting reading. The body in the bag on the bridge wins the prize. My dad has found MANY things - and if he can safely do so, he stops and picks them up - especially tools!

I found a trail of clothing. I then noticed they were coming from one of those roof top carriers on a mini van ahead of us. I tried to catch them but when I got close to them they seemed to speed up. I noticed other people trying to tell them also but I don't think they know what anyone was trying to tell them.

Had to come back in and add this one. On the way to work this morning, I was at a light behind a mom with a toddler in back carseat. Just as the light turned green, a very small shoe exited the back passenger window. Bet mom is gonna be searching the whole car for that one.

I occassionally bring my lunch to work in a small flat tupperware container. One morning I got to work and looked on the seat next to me, and my lunch was not there. I figured I had left it on the counter at home. Got out of the car, and there it was sitting on the trunk. It made the 47 mile trip on the trunk of the car. Only thing that kept it from flying off was the spoiler. It was just the right height I guess...not sure how I didn't lose it in any turns though. lol

The only thing I've lost from my first camper (a 26' TT) was the little outside swinging door off of the vent a hood. The one time I forgot to swing the little keepers into place.
Just the other day, I watched as a guy pulled uphill out of the parking lot of a Home Depot. He had packed his 1/2 ton pickup with ceramic tile. I mean he had it stacked in the back like hay on a farm truck. When he took off into the road, about half of it slid right off of the back and into the middle of the road. Before the boxed of tile came off of the truck, the rear bumper was about 8" off of the asphalt. Why do some people think these little trucks will haul such a load?

Lost a spare and the mounting bracket off the back of my old Southwind motorhome. The bouncy roads in Pensylvania caused the 4 inch wide "C" steel bracked to fatigue and crack off. Didn't even notice it until I stopped and "found it missing," Could see a black scrape mark on the boat trailer, but couldn't find the spare along the roads. The roads were heavily wooded along the edge, and I assume that it bounced merrily off into the bush.
Another time, a trucker passed us and honked while he patted the top of his head. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw the boat console cover flapping in the road. Stopped and went back to get it. After that, I never towed the boat with any covers on it.
The most dangerous thing I saw was on the freeway in San Jose. We were following a gardener's truck with 6 foot high sides when suddenly a shovel shot up and sailed over our car.

I met a snowbird in FL last winter who had just had this same experience. Broken weld on spare tire mounting bracket. He didn't know it had happened until next time he stopped. Wondered what kind of havoc he might have wreaked behind him somewhere.
