I want to make some wheel chocks using pipe clamps but I am unsure what size pipe clamps to use. 1/2 " or 3/4"? Also, I am planning to cut the angles at 20 degrees. Is this correct? thanks for your help

I would use 1/2" as you don't need a lot of pressure to stop the wheels from moving. It would help if you designed something to lock the chock in place to secure your trailer.

I used 1/2 inch. I just eyeballed the angle. Don't have any locking mechanism. All the preceedng work fine.

you can always hold the block of wood behind the tire about where you want it to sit and using a pencil, mark the block of wood then cut it as close to the line as you can. that way you get the proper angle to sit on the tire for max pressure

Thanks for your help. I'll get 1/2" and put the wood block behind the wheel to get the angle. I will try to make them tomorrow.

I used 3/4" because I already had them, but I'm sure 1/2" would be fine. I did a curve to roughly match the tire arc and then drilled holes for the pipe in the middle of the 4x4's so that everything held together and I could place and tighten them with one hand.

I liked the tightening mechanism better on the 3/4 so I went with them. A couble of quick twists with the crank and their set. On the Cameo the blocks are cut with a 66deg angle.
