Hi Guy's,

I ran across this site and I found it very informative. To the point that I am thinking about adding it to my coach.
RV Safty Systems
Question, does anybody have this in their MH's?

It's kind of scary when you think about it..

Thanks
Nick-

I'm not intending to knock the system you are suggesting but here is something I did last weekend. Home Depot sells a smoke/carbon detector that runs on batteries and ALSO communicates with any unit within 400 feet. It has dip switches so you can program your own frequency. I bought 5 units at $50.00 each. 3 in cabinets below (any where there is a possibility of a fire). Then one under the front dash and the other in the rear closet at the floor. Did a test after and what an alarm they give off. They all start screaming. To me the is much cheaper and will work along with the 4 fire extinguishers I carry.

Hi Guy's,

I think what I'm asking is if anybody has installed these supression systems and what is involved to install and of course, their reliability.
My concern is when my family is sleeping inside because we boondock quite often
with the genset running. This has woken me up many times at night wondering if everything is in working order and thinking, what if?
A supression system would give us a greater chance to escape in such an event.

Thanks

My son-in-law builds and weekend runs drag racers.. they all have the system that you want, but, they then to exclude all air from the site of the fire and you have only a few seconds to jump out.. waking from a sound sleep, finding out that the alarms and supression system have gone off, determining your best moves. well, maybe it will work???
Remember, you would most likly need two as one for the gen set and one for the under the bed engine... Then too, you might as well put one near the furnace and one near the ac unit,,. running one system setup to supple protection for all areas would be a chore..

They use fire suppression systems in boat engine compartments and computer rooms but not in the area where people sleep. The stuff the systems spew out can be toxic and you only have seconds to get out.

Hi Gary,

I think this system uses Cold Fire which is non toxic. I will have to do
some more reading up and see just how much time it could give us to get out
in the event of a fire.

Thanks

Check out www.rvsafetysystems.com as I believe they have what you are looking for. I intend to install one of these systems in the near future.
