Just some general info for any of you folks who may be headed to Disney World this coming Aug. I received a flyer from Fort Wilderness today advertising full hook up sites for $42 per night(plus tax). It says there is limited availability and the offer starts on Aug 3rd thru Sept 27th. I know from past visits that this is a very good rate for summer in Fort Wilderness. I bet they are hurting with fuel prices cutting/eliminating many peoples visits to Disney. Hope its helpful info to somebody! The number listed on flyer is 407-939-7607.
They were full this week we finally got 3 nights there for Sun, mon and Tues. Crazy how busy they can get there.
September is when they start their really slow time and August is so hot its not a big surprise they wouldn't be full. Florida in general is pretty slow around that time as most everyone is doing something else. Locals are traveled out usually with kids getting ready to go back to school and the snow birds several months out still.
That is a great rate though and you can usually get it through September / October depending on how full they are. Like you said it depends on how many bookings they get.
Also if you are going Aug 24th and Sept 20th don't forget about the free dining plan that Disney is offering. You can visit http://www.mouseplanet.com and check out the park updates for the details of the free dining.
The one thing they offer is free dining for anyone staying at the FORT and only those staying in the cabins can get the package.if you use the camping sites you are out of luck
