Unless you already have a slider hitch, then it's just redundancy.

depends.....automatic slider like super glide, yes - manual slider - redundancy, no....not a requirement, correct. Not have to get out of the unit to activate the slider is a big advantage.

I guess I lost something here, where did the comments about the slider hitch start from? The design is of the new front on the Silverback to to negate the use of a slider hitch, it should not be required, just like the Cougars and a few others. The manufacturers have finally realized that many of us like short bed trucks and are willing to deal with the few problems related, therefore Congrats to Cedar Creek for realizing and dealing with a small problem along with quite a few other manufacturers.

That's funny!! I can totally see that.

Honestly, in person the front end looks WAY better than in pictures.
I didn't really like it before, but it actually looks good now that it is sitting in my driveway.

Here are something's I don't like....
The cold water pipe has a hole, where it comes up through the floor and sprays water behind the cabinets until it comes flooding out.

Reason?... They ran the water lines right above the passenger side wheels, and are covered by a wheel well lining that is basically a tarp with insulation on the other side. There is 1" of clearance from the "wheel well" and the tire (is this what all CedarCreek's use for wheel wells?). When bumps are hit, it drives the wheel up and hits the water lines. After its 9 hour drive, the movement finally wore a hole in the pipe where it nineties up through the floor.

I can't believe anyone, with any mechanical/building sense, would lay the pipes out like that and say this is good!
How long before stones and water tear this tarp material covering apart?

Also... there's no pillow top mattress, as claimed.
No dual battery compartment, as claimed
The fold out air mattress has a hole in it.
The slide selector switch leaks fluid.
There is a huge squeak in the kitchen floor.
A 1 foot wall panel has completely come off the wall, because the "craftsman" with the air nailer missed with all the brads.

Like most 5vers I've seen.. everything is shot to sh** with a brad nailer, and there are holes everywhere.
Maybe I'm too picky, but I'm a home builder and the quality that goes into these things suck...I would be rattling heads, in that plant, if I were in charge of QA.

Otherwise she is a beauty!!
The windows are awesome.
The equa flex rules, unless I'm just not used to pulling a "real" rig. My Rockwood 8281 was just a cardboard toy compared to this monster.
The underbelly panels are awesome.
The docking station is ok, but the water valve switchover is just a mess of tubes an valves...there is a piece of paper with a printout sketch of the valve turning combos. I've seen other rigs much better than this.
The kitchen cabinets look better in person than in pictures...a very warm feel.
The freestanding table is very nice, two flip up ends and it the whole top slides sideways
There are lots of storage areas.

Over all I give it a 8/10
Quality wise a 6/10

Wow...thats not good at all. Not what I'd expect from Cedar Creek for sure.

The comment about the slider was just that. If you already have a slider for your shortbed, then the front cap is just an angluar eyesore.

Good luck with your repairs. I understand CC is great to work with. Hope you have the same experience and have a bunch of happy trails with your new rig.

We had a long list of initial quality problems with our '08 unit. (more than any other new unit we've ever owned) The majority of the issues were related to plumbing (seems like just about everything that could leak, leaked). I don't think Cedar Creek can rest on their name (premium) reputation much longer. It certainly doesn't foster repeat business which is what the majority of Cedar Creek sales are. . .return buyers.
