I know very little about this system, but was recently told by a salemen, they have lots of problems with the 8 bag system, because they are so near the tires, and rocks get kicked up into the bags and damage them..........is this true? or just salemen talk? By the way, what are the pros and cons of 4 bags vs 8 bags?
Thanks

we have a 99 dynasty and the air bags are original, with 68k miles on them. I have never heard of this, and think the salesman is giving a line of bull. Walter

Don't listen to the Saleman, they don't know. Go look at the rear suspension on a semi truck tractor; notice where the air bags are relative to the tires, there are 100 times more semi truck tractors with that suspension than MHs and they don't have problems. The salesman is selling BS that doesn't pass the logic test.

I have heard the same thing from many salesmen. It seems to be a larger problem from the RV dealers that don't have a Monaco on their lot.

Big Semi-trucks have Air-bags near the wheels; so....... BUT, some motorhomes have blown a tire and the shreds damaged the airbag hoses. They're an awesome ride. TOM

Sounds like he was a salesman whose shop doesn't carry Monaco product. What he told you is 100% completely false.

Monaco will tell that they give you a better ride and will corner flatter. I tried them and drove a friends and to my simple mind could not tell you the diffence. Buy the rig you wife rally likes and you will be much happier

I didn't buy the MH for the Airbags, I bought it because I/we liked the floorplan. Never had any problems or concerns with the airbags, the MH rides great, glad I have them.

I was told the exact same thing by a salesman in Texas.
Not saying it's true, not saying I agree.

Like the others have said, usually the ones not selling it put it down. They do take up space for storage, but how much do you need?....and NO ONE ELSE in the industry uses this system, only Monaco products. If you cannot tell the difference between a straight front axle and an independent one, in my opinion, it wouldn't really matter to you anyway. All diesel coaches in the 8 bag price range have ping tanks that help to level the ride. By all means drive the coach before you buy it, drive the one you are buying, not a demo, but buy the flooplan you like the best....IMHO good luck and keep us informed
