Strange question...I have a 2007 toyota 4 runner with a v6. I also a evolution e1. I have been reading many posts on the WDH issue. From what I have gathered and read; a WDH would be a good investment. Right???

However, I was wondering if anyone has had any clearance issues with the added hardwarde dropping below the trailer???

Any insights and information would be much appreciated!

Thanks again,
Mike

The hitch doesn't drop below the trailer just the tongue, the axle and depending on what's under your trailer would still be lower.

Mike, The WDH bars will be just a couple inches under the tongue like this and will not present any clearance issues.

A weight distribution hitch won't reduce your ground clearance appreciably, but it will reduce the trailer-hitch articulation when you take it off road. It's probably best to disconnect it when the going gets rough.

I have a dip in my driveway, so I can't take mine out of the driveway with the arms on. Though other than that, I've never had any issues elsewhere.

We probably have the same or similar suspension, so if your pup is less than 3k lbs, I'd probably skip the wdh. I can tell a slight difference when I use mine, but I wouldn't have one on my 4k one if I didn't get it for free. You can get a friction sway bar for quite a bit less.

eurocamper,
I looked at you picture that you posted on the previous message showing your weight distribution hitch set-up (equal-i-zer) and I have a couple of questions on how you set it up.
I have a E-3 with a equal-i-zer WDH set-up, my question is with the double tube trailer frame that we have on the Evolution models how did you set-up the L-bracket on the trailer? Where did you bolt the L-bracket? Did you flip the L-bracket upside down? In what hole where you able to put the L-bracket in?

When I installed the equal-i-zer WDH on my trailer, I talked with a rep from equal-i-zer several times to try to determine the best way to install this WDH on trailers like ours with the double tube frame.

I am just curious to see what you experience has been with this product.
