Around here some hardware and tool rental places fill propane. Oddly the most expensive is a propane dealer less than a mile away and they charge a flat rate 20 & 30 lb tanks. I can't remember what it was back when I had my C.

Camping World also sells it. But not on Sundays. The Service Dept is closed on Sundays. And holidays. And in the evening. But other than that, it's convenient.

I live in a urban environment, in Dundee, IL.

On Route 25 in Carpentersville,IL there is an equipment rental company, with a propane filling station in back. Maybe propane filling stations are common with equipment rental businesses where they rent equipment that runs off propane.

I was very surprised, last fall it cost me only $14 to fill up my 42 pound RV tank from empty.

Cheapest we found locally was an equipment rental place. I get the RV filled and the 11 lb portable tank at the same type. U-Haul was selling it as if it contained gold.
