Hey guys.
Since I've had my new hauler the one thing I found out rather quickly was how much heat the windows (especially the large ones)seem to radiate heat inside the coach. It's bad enough that the A/C won't keep up with it.
What I wanted to know was if anyone has some alternatives to buying those expensive, custom covers that are snapped on the outside of the windows? I considered tint, but the dealer advised against it, saying tint wouldn't stop the heat.
Any ideas?

I have to disagree with your dealer. We have the dark tinted windows and it does help cut down the heat, actually quite a bit. If we close our miniblinds our TT stays very comphy even in direct sunlight.

Yup. More dealer hog-wash.
Tinting certainl will cut down the heat if you install the UV-blocking type.
I actually just installed, today, a mylar pull-down shade over our big 4' x5' picture window. As soon as I lowered it, I could feel the difference in the heat.

When we toured the Southwest last year I had to buy some Reflectix (Lowes) and put it in the windows that caught the afternoon sun. The result was a dramatic reduction in heat. Unfortunately I could see out the windows that I put it in.

I experimented with the peel and stick tint and found with an infared thermometer that it increased the temperature inside considerably. I could even tell it by my bare hand. I removed it. I use the reflective bubble stuff but it cuts out all light. Recently I did purchase one of those expensive covers for the front window. I can see out but the glare and heat has dropped tremendously. It is worth every penny. Installs in 30 seconds.

Take a look here: http://www.campingworld.com/browse/products/index.cfm?prodID=1967&src=SRQB
I have them on my three largest windows and I can feel a great deal of difference. I might add I have dark colored factory dual pane windows.
