Does anyone know how i can just get a map on the NET of were all the campgrounds are listed, state, private or public etc. Surely there is a way to pull up a state map with all the RV listing along the Hwy! Otherwise it seems iam gonna have to click here to get there. to get somewhere lost in the NET just to find a Campground along a Interstate or road. Really has been frustrating. Someone please tell me a easier way other than what iam doing. In other words what is the best way to plan or even see where to go thats conveniet.

Try this. You can click on a state and then zoom in further to find a campground and then review the campground details.Reserve America Map View

Spend the $24.95 for the 2008 Trailer Life Directory and that will solve your problems. Trailer Life also has a CD set of the Directory that you can load into your computer. I carry the Directory in the camper and also have it installed on my computer.

Does the Trailer Life Directory online work as well?

Or is that the clicking the OP wants to get away from?

How about this? Got it from someone on here few months back.

Campground Map

Keep clicking on the map or use the Zoom Slider on the left side
until you get down to the Red Markers. Single Clicks on the Pin will pop a bubble up with info.

Here is one way to do it ... perhaps more work than you are looking for, but interesting and cool as well useful for various other things as well:

1) Go to "earth.google.com" and download and install the free google earth app.

2) Go to "kmlcsv.pbwiki.com" and download and install the KMLCSV converter.

You now have Google Earth, a cool mapping tool. And a utility to convert CSV files into the KML files that Google Earth uses.

3) Go to "www.poi-factory.com". Click on "POI Files" and browse to the "Campgrounds" category. POI files are "Points of Interest" files which contain coordinates ... for example, the Good Sam Campground file will contain locations of Good Sam parks. There are others, pick one of interest and download it.

4) Open KMLCSV. If you get an error, you need a newer java engine on your PC. Go to http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp to download and install the latest.

5) Set the "File Selection" Option to "CSV to KML". Click "Browse" and open the POI file you downloaded in step 3. Click "Create". You now have a Google Earth "KML" file.

6) Browse to the location of the "Output" file from step 5, find the KML file and double click it.

Have fun!

I agree that the Trailer Life CD is what you need. It's more complete than anything else I've seen. I like being able to load it on my laptop and use it while driving down the road. It's come in handy when plans changed and we had to find a campground in a hurry.
