But...how do they register it in CA if you dont LIVE in CA? What address do they use??? Lets say you live in AZ and your out and about over the border and stumble upon an "offer you cant refuse"...
California has auditors that they send all over the country looking for individuals who bought goods in the state but did not pay the sales tax. They use to do the same thing with income tax until the Supreme Court outlawed it. If you earned income in California and then retired and moved out of state, California still wanted you to pay income tax on your pension income.
other states have considered doing the same, they figured that you earned it in CA so pay the piper? is that what the SCOUS outlawed?

I understand the "tax" thing...its the "registration" part that doesnt make any sense...nor even sound legal.
