we have a lifetime membership in PPA and it has paid for itself many times over. The key is to use it, if there is one available. When we leave our summer home here, heading to Mexico, we will go to Moab, UT for 7 to 10 days and it will save us about $15/day there.

We tried to use it and so many times the campgrounds wouldn't honor it as it wasn't the right time of the year. Seems like during the summer months it wasn't honored as frequently as during off seasons.
We have found in talking with folks; those who have it like it but those who don't didn't like it...... .

PPA will save you money when used. For effective and efficient use of PPA you need to be aware of the various specific restrictions at participating campgrounds. We have saved many times over the cost. Try it for a year and determine it's effectiveness for you and your family camping.
PPA does not have good coverage in all areas of the country, but, does have good coverage for the areas in which we generally visit.

Its been hashed and re-hashed over and over again, but the general (majority) of the users feel that its a great value.....if you travel at least a couple weeks a year. It won't work at all campgrounds, but most accept it and yes, they do have blackout times or dates. But we paid for ours in just three days in Moab a week ago, again nearly paid for it in two days near St George. And yes, some campgrounds are not "resort" quality but some of them are premium campgrounds.

I checked into it awhile back and there were a lot of restrictions at the CG's we would stay. You couldn't use it on certain days of the week or holidays.

Its only as good as you use it and its not for everyone either. For us it works really well and use it a good bit. It has more than paid for itself over and over again.

Since we left for Canada/Alaska, other than the FMCA Ralley, we have only stayed at PPA cg's, saving more than $350 on camping fees. I wish there were a PPA fuel, as we have driven 5200 miles @ .47/mile.
Good luck.
