Whoa! If your "real world" accepts all those images, words and phrases, I'm happy I don't live there with you.

Before posting on ANY forum or writing or talking, I always try to follow these guidelines:

Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it neccesary?

THINK ABOUT IT!

GizmosMom...

Since YOU are getting personal as I didn't if you read my last post
I have NO problem pressing the IGNORE member button to put you on my ignore list if you feel that way. All I stated is that I don't feel a word like that would do any harm. Obviously you do.

It's not like we (or anyone else) is saying the 4 letter words!! Pissed??? You HAVE to be kidding!! If a word like pissed offends someone, than I would seriously rather not converse with them as "they" are a bit too snooty for me.

Excuse me now but I think I'm gonna barf!

My dear departed Mother used to say that, folks who used questionable and indecent language, were "short of words". If posters can't come up with a more acceptable synonym for angry, I would have to agree that they were "short of words".

There are still a lot of folks that don't consider "street trash talk" cool or macho, regardless of what one might hear on TV. If that makes me an "old foggie", so be it.

A lack of intelligent vocabulary is often substituted by street language.

Someone, on a rally thread, posted that something "s*cked" - I thought that was a disgrace, but just passed it by.

I'm with you, Rollincool. The word in question isn't considered street talk, trash talk, etc. - it is real world talk. These people need to get over themselves. This isn't an Ozzie and Harriet reunion site, it's supposed to be a fun-loving, informative, real-world site. "Pissed off" is a very commonly used, commonly accepted phrase. You uptighties need to loosen your panties and RELAX!

I would suggest that if you feel the need to use $$ instead of ss, then you shouldn't post it.

Well, what we need to do is make sure that we are saying what we mean in a format we can understand.

Now, there are some words that get starred out. One of these the commonly used word for female dog. But it is also commonly used in swearing as in son of a ..... Now, generally, I agree with the theory that one should be able to state what you mean without getting nasty, but I wish the software were a little smarter. I wish it knew I'm being clinical when I'm talking about a female dog, as in breeding my 7 year old b.... But it would be somewhat rude to say to someone, "I hope your mother comes out from under the porch and bites you."

Also, if I've got your attention. More people read short paragraphs than things that go on for 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 lines with no break

My $0.01.

Ok, just checking that software a female dog is a *****. If it does what I expect part, if not all of that word will be starred out.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

The word 'piss' occurs more than once in the King James version of the Bible. 'Pissed', OTOH, is a slang expression rather than a description of urination. We usually use the term PO'd on the forum.

Of course, the word 'Bible' is more apt to be deleted.

Ok than PO'd it is.

Wow. My use of the of the phrase "PO" might have lacked in taste and maybe could have been phrased different. But where I mod'd before that term was ok. The F, s,b words were not. But it was more international based rather than North American.

But some of you are just mean for calling me stupid, rude, unintelligent etc. Sorry but your mean attitude IMHO is worse than me saying PO'd. Hope you don't ever do anything wrong or say something that you regret if not you might be called names or accused of being ignorant too. Sheesh I asked for clarification instead I get tossed on the burning hot coals!! Thanx neighbor and have a nice day!!
