When picking out your 5er, you should also be considering your tow vehicle. They must work together, so be sure you get a matched pair ... ...

OK, if you don't mind pricey, how bout the Titanium 36E41.

The bath is more or less in a hallway on the way to the master bedroom, and the kids have their own jack and jill bath at the other end.

It's also a bit heavy, so you'll need a 350/3500.

we were considering this model and it was down to it and the one we ended up going with. We loved the rear bunkhouse on the Mountaineer and the second bath. What we didn't like was how the second bath opened up, essentially, onto the dinette area. This was probably the one point that DH just couldn't get past. I also didn't like how it didn't have access to the exterior from the half-bath (half the reason to have a second bath - kids don't need to traipse in and out just to go potty).

The unit we ended up going with just suited us better. We knew what we wanted and went with the one that had most of it. That's what you need to figure out.

Sit down and list the things that are important to YOU. What will make camping that much more enjoyable for you? Our first unit was a TT and it rapidly showed me what I liked and didn't like and what worked and didn't work for *us*.

Go to the Montana owners forum and check that website. There is a place where there are trailers for sale by members of the forum. You might find a GOOD deal on a unit that is 1 or 2 years old.
Lots of good ones of different makes available...pick the one you like best.
Good luck!

The wife and I looked at over 200 5ers between July last year and January of this year. We were set on a Montana until we looked at the Jayco Designer. The floor plan suited us better and the construction seemed to be better. I have had very few problems and I am full timing. Good luck and just enjoy whatever you decide to purchase.

I would concur with this post. Have a 2007 34RLQS Designer and love it. I would say the Mountaineer and Designer as close as you get comapring apples to apples. Both are good units.

We looked @ this model. We thought it was very nice, but we chose the CC 36l5s ,(which is pretty much the same layout) We also thought the master bath was a little more private plus the extra slide in the master gave us a little more room. There is a lot of things to think about, take your time have some fun..

I agree because of money some will always be better but keep in the same price range and see what you like. Money makes thing pretty but might not be important things. chevman

We're newbies to the 5er scene and are on our maiden voyage as I reply to you. As stated earlier, there are many factors that get rolled into a big purchase like this. If you have DEEP pockets then don't worry and purchase what you want. If you are like the rest of us, only you can decide what fits your family's needs and what you can pull with your truck.
We looked at the Montana line but chose to go with an Open road 305RL3s-5 rig. It has a rear living area, 3 slides and a self-contained bathroom (no center aisle to deal with). So far we are very pleased with it and are heading to Maine for a 3-week trip.
best of luck in your decision process and ultimate purchase. By the way, we looked into rvwhaolesalers.colm but chose to go with a more local dealer as saved big $$$ on $58K rig and can get local service in Springfield Ohio.

My DW and I just bought our first 5th wheel on 31 May. I started last fall and started to look at various trailers and what would be safe with my truck. I would encourage to look at your Tow Vehicle and its capabilities and then match them to the type of trailers that it can tow safely. To learn more, I would suggest you search for GVWR with the search engine and you will learn a lot about the difference of Safe and legal concerning your tow vehicle. Then get a copy of Trailer Life buying guide and then go to trailerlife.com to order manufacturers brochures of the trailers you like. Then after getting the flood plan, take a look at the various and search local vendors for the companies flood plan you like. A good FL dealership is Lazy Days. In addition, if you don't mind traveling to pick up your trailer, you could search for dealers near the RV plants. The important thing is to take your time and you will find a 5er within your budget and a flood plan you will enjoy. God Bless your search.

We have a Montana 3665 because our youngest is a senior in High School and we decided to prepare for our retirement and the bunks flood plan we take up to much room from the living room.

Hey guys... thank you for all the help you have given me on my search for a new coach. We recently decided to go for a TT since it is going to be a lot more easier to tow. If you would like to help me on that.. you may go to our new topic on the TT category... Blessings.
