Just looking at the flyer for Camping World, and noticed the "Everyday Special" they offer for a Tow Package...$1399 (club price) This includes a Falcon 2 Tow Bar, Hidden Mounting Brackets, and a Falcon 2 Accessory Kit (Cover, safety cables, universal wiring kit, 4-wire flex coil, and keyed alike locks), and INSTALLATION!!.

They say that there is a $400 savings over buying individually, and I know that CW is usually kinda pricey. But, I'm also seeing that many of these prices are not too bad, if you consider the installation, and the savings. I also know that I can probably save money buying on E-Bay, but then I've also got the shipping costs, and then have to figure out the installation myself, or pay several hundred to have it done.

Any thoughts....has anyone gotten this "package"? Were you pleased with it? Is the Falcon 2 a decent tow-bar?? It says it's rated at 6,000 lbs. I'll be towing a '01 Honda Civic (5-spd)

Is this the sort of project that they can usually complete in a day? We are thinking of driving down to Myrtle Beach, and then having them work on it, while we go to "Hard Rock Park" for the day.

Thanks in advance.....

We did obtain the tow package from CW. We got the more expensive tow bar but we are pulling a big van. They did do the job in one day. Just as you said we looked other places and if it was cheaper than CW there was some other catch. Either installation fee or something wasn't included. Or we could buy off the Internet and the shipping cost was high. They did a great job and we had it for over a year now with no problem. Your package sounds good but it's JMO. Good luck and happy camping.

I have the Falcon 2 tow bar which I like a lot. I did buy off eBay and used a local body shop to do the install. I did the whole package for about $1500. My concern would be the install price. Be sure they aren't going to add more due to unanticipated problems and get it in writing. I think you will be happy with the Falcon 2 though.

We have the Falcon 2 as well, works fine for the CRV. My only advice would be to order ahead and confirm correct parts were delivered for the tow brackets. CW is notorious for saying we have it in stock when in fact they don't. And don't forget about the supplemental brakes you'll need for the toad.

The Falcon 2 is a good towbar but the pricing from CW is a bit high. You can get all the hardware you mentioned for around $900 from other sources. I did my own installation so $400 for CW to install seems like too much for the amount of effort required(IMO). If you think you can do your own install or have a local mechanic that you trust, check out the pricing at PPL. Their customer service is excellent and they are very helpful with questions you might have.

We've towed a Ford Windstar with the Falcon Towbar with no problem. Current TOAD is a 06 Saturn VUE with same tow bar. Still works wonderful. We also had the Falcon II towbar on two motorhomes.

I purchased my Falcon 2 from CW. My price with installation was around $1300. I find CW pricing to be pretty fair.
If you install your own, I don't recommend it, make sure you know exactly what needs to be dome. Remember your are pulling a 3,000 toad at 60 MPH there's a lot of force and resistance with this thing.

The price sounds fairly reasonable. In 2005 we bought a Sterling (not All Terrain) towbar XL brackets for our Jeep Wrangler and the accessory kit directly from Roadmaster for $1,307.00. The Sterling was a little more than the Falcon, but not all that much.

I just found the paperwork and at the time it was the best price of 8 different places we looked (including Camping World). I had to install the brackets and wiring myself. It took an afternoon of steady (but not rushed) work.
