I am trying to decide between the Barker 3500 and the Bulldog 4000. Prices I have found are close enough not to make my decision for me. It looks like the Barker has a round foot pad that does not appear to be able to be detached by the pics I have seen. The one on the Bulldog, looks like it can be taken off. I have the tongue twister that I use. Does anybody know anything about the Bulldog? It has a 5 year warranty. I have read that Barker is a great product and great customer service. Does anybody have any information that can help me. Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for one too. Haven't made up my mind as to which one yet. I'm wondering with around 800lbs of tongue weight do I really need a 3500lb jack? I know, bigger is better, more power haha.
Best price I've found so far is about $210 shipped for a Barker 3500lb jack on ebay. If anyone knows of a better deal I'd love to hear about it.
The round pad on the Barker is held on by a bolt installed from the bottom after the jack is installed on the tongue. You could leave it off and use your twister.
The jack has to lift more than your tongue weight if you use it to help with your WD bars. Also the Barker has a head that can be spun on the tube to allow full drop of the tailgate when hitched, not sure about the Bulldog.

Get a 3500 lb'r if you can since it has to lift the tongue and the rear of the tow vehicle. My 3000 lb UltraFab sounds and looks like it is trying pretty hard when I raise the truck and TT tongue to flip my snap up brackets.
I've read a lot of posts praising the Barker.
