Just a thought????
Can you operate your water heater in electric and propane at the same time for a faster recovery?

Yes, or any commbination of the two...gas only, electric only. Seems like recovery time is fast enough with just electric, if you give it a little more time...saves gas!

Says in our manual, use both if you are in high demand for hot water. If not then use electric as it saves on propane.

It would just be for those mass shower times, it wouldn't be for all the time.

We use both when we are taking a shower and then only use electric at other times. You just have to remember to turn the gas off after you finish with your shower.

Yes - we do it mostly when we have the Grand Kids with us and need a rapid recovery to move things along. As mentioned, just remember to turn off the gas after.

I was going to ask why would you want to use both at the same time but, seems like some do use them both at the same time so I will not ask why. So there....

Yes you can and no need to remember to turn the gas off. You can keep both on at all times if you like. Actually, the thermostat for the gas is a bit lower than the thermostat for the electric, so in times of little demand, the electric may well keep the water hot and the element cycle on and off without the gas ever coming on.
