I am looking at a Jayco 31BHDS TT and I was told that it is 34' from hitch to rear bumper. I would be pulling this with a Ford F-350 Crewcab with an 8' bed. My question is will I have any problems with the length of the TT & TV? It seams to me to be alot of metal to move around at campgrounds. I have experience pulling up to 28' boats that are a little heavier than this trailer, but with boats you just swing into the ramp and there are no close quarter issues? I would like to tow this trailer on trips no further than 250 miles one way and I am trying to decide If it is going to be a hassle before I buy it.

I always call ahead to the camp ground of choice and give the length of my camper. They will tell you the length of their slots and if they have pull-thrus. I usually ask for a pull-thru because of the ease of parking, however, have backed my 31E into slots without a problem.

No problem with my Jayco so far but am concerned with some county parks that I read about and would like to stay at. No matter what the length of the trailer I've been in state parks with my old trailer at 28' and the problem was with the trees and the heigth as much or more than the length!
My new trailer is almost 34' but looking at most parks it shouldn't be a problem BUT I don't mind spending a dime and calling ahead.

Been in some pretty tight spots with mine but always seem to get it in there. Make sure you have a competent spotter.

You WILL be limited to where you camp. Older state parks do not upgrade to accomodate newer trailers. We are running into this with our trailer. Private campgrounds are a little more forgiving, but my advice is to call ahead. There is nothing more aggravating than getting to a campsite just to fin out you won't fit int the site.

My 31' Nomad is 34' overall and I usually don't have a problem... You have to choose your gas stations carefully but other than that I back mine all the time with few issues... We camp regularly at a local State Park and have plenty of room although we have to park the truck diagonally in the space forward of the TT...

Your long bed CC is longer than my Supercab by a bit but I don't think you'll have too many issues if you pick your campsite carefully... I always tell the private CG's that my TT is 34' long with double slides street side and that seems to work out...

My trailer measures 30' and my truck would be about the same as yours. So far, I've been able to get plenty of sites at the NY State campgrounds we visit, as well as assorted private campgrounds in our travels. Navigating around a lot of gas stations is more of an issue than campgrounds. Because of that, I keep an empty 5 gallon gas can in the truck in case I need to fill and transfer. Personally, if I wanted something any longer, I'd go for a FW and reduce the overall length due to the benefit of part of the trailer hanging over the truck.

i usually stay at 3 different state parks in the area and have had no problems. of course i've stayed at these same CG with other TT's so i pretty much know where i will fit and where i won't. if things are that close i don't want it anyhow-tells me i'm too close to my neighbors. vacations are kinda a shot in the dark but so far 2 for 2 were good-one private and one ACE.
this yr we are at another private one but they know what i have and said no problem. i have more problems getting the utility post between my slide outs than i do getting into a spot(which i do solo 99% of the time).
look back and up, get out frequently if needed to see what's there(cam comes in handy) and take your time. biggest problem is getting gas when traveling and i try to keep to the larger truck stop type-have done some mom/pop type where i had to back out, it's a pain but doable.
like you i have a crew/long bed-my TT is 35'6" and the TV is 21'4"

My experience is, yes you will. The worst is private rv parks that have narrow roads between rows of slots.
If you have enough room in front of you, no problem. But you seldom do.

I pulled a 24'for about 8yrs.(2 different TTs) and bought a 29' thats 33 1/2' ball to bumper,it's a little harder to get leval in some of the CGs but not too bad,as far as towing, the rear wheels cut across the corner a lot more, you have to swing a little wider than with a short TT,so far no big issue yet.
