I need to eliminate the heat coming in from my windshield while parked and Im looking for any ideas as to covers.
I'm familiar with the naugahide/vinyl type covers using the snaps that you screw on around the window but im hoping there might be a better way I don't now about.
What do you use?
Thanks for any ideas

Walmart also sells those alum sun things that are spring load and slap you in the face when you open then up. Then after a few hours they do what they want do, so the wife has more to add to the "TO DO" list. lol.... Bill

I've seen some that supposedly just hold on the outside with static cling.
We just use the curtains that pull all the way around on the inside primarily because it's quick and easy enough we can do it at rest stops and such. We don't tow so like to be able to do a full hook-up or unhook in 5 minutes.

Prompt sunscreen, you can see out, no one can see in during the day. No snaps, 1 person can put up. www.rv-sunscreen.com/oldsite/index.htm

I use the Prompt sunscreen also. We spend a lot of time in the Arizona desert and park facing the south. We get full, all day sun on the windshield. We still get a lot of heat but do not want to block our view out the front so the sunscreen is the best option for us.

WE have a Fleetwood Revolution, which has a large almost bubble like windshield. I use a silver quilted sun shade (camping world) & the curtains, which are very thin & offer little insulation. I'm currently looking for a heavier better insulating fabric & then will make new curtains. I loose my view out front but I keep the bus 10-20 degrees cooler with only 1 AC running. We often look for 'outside' sites & get our views from our side windows.

We gave our (almost new) Prompt sunscreens away! You still needed a ladder to install, they were sub-par material, and you could NEVER get the drivers and passenger side windows material tight, and they would sag. There is no way to make them tight as you are covering up the front windshield "straps" along the side windows....the rubber straps made them look tacky also. (notice the side windows on the website...TACKY!!!)
We installed the SUNGUARD SUNSCREENS and are very happy. Nice and tight across the windshield AND the side windows, and the material is 85% with much better fiberglass material.
I can install my Sunguards faster that I could with the Prompts.

We have used other manufactures shades on past coaches but we have found excellent results with our Sun Guard covers installed with the turn button retainers. Still have to use a small ladder but heck, takes me all of six minutes to install. Easy to keep clean, they stay taught, allows vision out but impossible to see in during daylight hours and reduces windshield heat dramatically. At night, you must use the interior curtain also to prevent those on the outside peeking in. Love those Sunguards!
