When I stopped to ask if I could help he told me his lug nuts sheared off.

Sheared lug nuts usually indicate stretched bolts -- torqued too much.

I check the lug nuts before each trip. If they are all tight I do not check them again. I check the air pressure in the tires each morning before we leave for another campground.

I check before every trip. I marked the lug nuts to see if there is any movement. Makes checking the wheels that much easier. Also the tire pressure on the trailer and the TV is checked before every trip. Always have the torque wrench and a air gauge in the truck.

Great idea on marking the lug nuts. I'm gonna do it!

Wow! You guy's are really good. I check mine when packing the bearings and one more time after I tow it, just to make sure. Then I forget it until time to pull the wheels again. Never had a problem! I do check the pressure before a trip, then forget it until the next trip. No tire issues either!!

I check the tire pressure everytime we move to a new place. I check the lug nuts about once a month.

That guy had the lug nut syndrome, it is not curable.

I hope you did not catch it.
