Just got back from a great trip to Solomons Island, in St. Mary's County, Maryland.
Unfortunately on Saturday night a pretty heavy storm came up and damaged our 21 ft. awning.
Awning has a hole in it, rails pulled away from the trailer. The main roller was bent in half.
I reported the claim to Progressive Insurance and am now waiting for their agent to call me.
I need a GOOD repair shop to get this thing fix. Any recommendations.
Not sure where your town is located but I have had great results from the independent rv repair people. Much faster response and quality work. There is one in paticular that covers Southern Maryland, but I don't know if he is close to your area. Navy Solomons is a nice campground but the weather on the bay can change suddenly with strong winds. Never leave your awning extended when not with your camper. BTW, Solomons is at the southern tip of Calvert County, not that "other" county across the bridge.

You made out good. There's a 5vr over by the marina with a tree laying in it. I am guessing you were near the G lots here at solomons. My neighbor behind me said he saw an awning fold up and wreck all kinds of havoc.

Not that it helps you much, but a bent roller as you described, is not repairable. Plan on a new one. In which case once you are done with the insurance guru you can throw the whole awning away and happily continue your trip.

He doesn't have a store, he rents a bay to work in. Been in the business for 20 years. He does do house calls, $50. At least thats what it was a month ago.
Had him do my Equa-Flex suspension and my refrigerator recall.
Only complaint I have with him is, he doesn't call you back. But work quality wise, VERY GOOD.

If you were closer to New York I would recommend Len-Rich RV. They're a mobile service and parts business. They are really awesome. Rich is the man to go to for the majority of the service calls. He's honest, reliable, punctual (which is a BIG pet peeve of mine, when people are late) and he ALWAYS returns your phone call. They're very reasonably priced and won't recommend any work that you don't need. Check them out on www.rvservicereviews.com. You'll be impressed. I know I was!
Thanks oldelmer. I will check out the Aberdeen connection. I also got a name from Progressive Insurance; Custom Coach, just off of I-695 in Baltimore. Custom Coach
Progressive has been great to deal with so far. We will see how it ends up.
