Long bed is the better choice for longer trailers but eiter will work. Choose your TV by what your comforable with.

Many wrongs and missinformation in this post.

First, Dodge doesn't make a LB Mega cab. Although there are a few aftermarket companies that will extend the frame and add a LB to the Mega cab.(Wish I had one of those!)
I can handle the parking, and sticking out past the spot at Wally World. It's funny and you will never loose your truck.

Your right,a few aftermarket companies do convert the mega cab into a longbed.I don't think i said dodge makes one but i do know of one campany that dodge approves the conversion.I have talked to him several times but like i said,i was waiting until the bugs were worked out on the engine. The mega cab with longbed is 22" longer than my current quad cab longbed.
Congrats go to you and here is your prize.

Thanks for the prize. I was simply pointing out to others that this does not exist in the "Dodge" dealer world, and was stated to keep someone from asking there dealer, "So where are the mega cab long bed trucks I read about." and looking like a complete moron.

Well, there has been alot of mixing of bed length and wheel base in the responses. With all of the different cab/bed combinations available from the different manufacturers, the permutations are, if not endless, certainly substantial. For example my Megacab has a short bed (76.3"), but still has a 160.5" wheelbase. You could get a Quad cab with a Long Bed (98.3")and the same wheelbase or a Quad cab with the same 76.3" box as my Mega only has a 140.5" wheelbase.

So when we talk about turnig radius, ease of parking, stability etc. we're really talking about the wheelbase (longer v. shorter) which is not dependent solely on the bed length, unless of course the cab size (i.e. Reg/Crew/Super/Quad/Mega) remains constant.

However, the bed length WILL affect things like available cargo space and clearance between the back of the cab and a fifth wheel hitch which are important considerations in choosing a tow vehicle.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
