WOW! Thanks for that link. I must admit I didn't even know there was a bill banning these bulbs, and what an 'informative' and cleverly written speech.

Hmmmm, ever wonder why this was not played on national TV?
Hmmmm, the ONLY place that makes them is China?

Well according to EPA, me and my pets are going to die from mercury poisoning and my house AND my RV need a HAZMAT team immediately.....because I've broken 2 of these bulbs in them.

Just don't like ANYONE telling me what I can or cannot do INSIDE my own home, and sadly it is not going to end with banning the bulb either.

Hello, it's a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), and fluorescent bulbs use much less energy than incandescent light bulbs.

That is absolutely true, and it is your choice whether to use them or not...

Wait a minute... No it's not!
You no longer have that choice!

Someone from Texas actually makes some sense..
This should be required viewing.
Maybe air it during the Super Bowl half time show or during a caution at the Daytona 500.

I"m not convinced they save a bundle. I brought two bulbs to work, one sixty watt light and one CFL that was suppose to be a sixty watt bulb but only burning thirteen watts. I tried them both out and I"m not going to do the math again but the sixty watt bulb was actually sixty watts and the thirteen watt bulb was actually twenty six watts. I listed the results on here and someone mentioned something about the power factor blah blah blah. I didn't understand it but I had a different take. There are two parts the a CFL bulb, the light and the ballast. I"m betting the actual light was thirteen watts and the ballast was a little more. Any electrical guys out there know the low down?
