I said cam shaft but when gun pilot said crank I changed my story because I kinda forgot what it was. I think the 2002 psd did not need the coolant additive and the color of the antifreeze changed on that year. chevman
the psd is epensive to repair usualy needing a certified mech so find a good one who knows his diesels well
then thats in the end of the 7.3 line so the bugs are worked out and itll be a lot more reliable than a 95 or a new 6.0/6.4 whatever they have it now but when a new engine comes out they need to fine tune it and work out the bugs first
the first 7.3 psd was in 94 so then its 6 years in at your point
the cps is a bug but not big im told '
also water additive is big if they didnt do it dont buy it signs of no additive upkeep are blue smoke and oil in the coolant/ vise versa
the auto trannys usualy are not too great in these trucks im not sure on the new psd engine but the idi and early psd has the e4OD option this tranny is junk unless properly modded
also a trqcon lockup is usualy helpful see if you can do that on your tranny itll give consistant even full power
but it looks good as you said it on price look locally you find a bunch of these being sold by companys so add a few hundered for a civilian truck not in service truck and theres a good price for your area
There should be better deals, keep looking. My son just picked up a 2002 F250 XLT extended cab, 2wd, 7.3/auto with 104k miles for $10500. It does look in very good shape and runs fine.
