Has anyone questioned the clearance above their tires and the floor of the trailer? My 08 25f with Dexter torsion axels only had an 1 and 1/2 inches. Dexter recommends 3 inches.Jayco has agreed to replace the axels to provide proper clearance.Any comments or Quetions are most welcome.

I had the same problem with my 2008 JayFeather 31E. They changed the axles and all 4 tires. My clearance was only 1/2". After the fix, it's working just fine.

Doug.......my axles are finally settling. Jayco says its a bushing problem in the axle that's failing and causing the axle to settle. They have notified Dexter about their concern, mean while it's a warranty replacement. My new axles are on order.

after seeing pdvandusen's post on his clearance I checked mine and only had about 3/4" clearance. I e-mailed Jayco about my 31V and after about 21/2 weeks they called and said the axle's needed to be replaced. My only problem was that the dealer was booked until after we return from vacation so I have an appointment to drop it off then and get the new axles put on.

I too have had a problem with tire clearance. Mine has about 1 1/2 to 2 inches and the front right tire is rubbing the paint off the underside of the fender from rubbing when going over bumps or dips. I have emailed Jayco and waiting for a response. Did they voluntarily offer to replace the axles or did you have to argue?

Those of you that are having problems, when you call Jayco as for John Johnston. He is a Good Tech Rep and knows about this problem. I didn't have any problems with Jayco on the replacement, however, you might have problems with your dealer on getting the parts on order and the repair done. My dealer got with Jayco immediately so I guess I pretty lucky.

Thanks larryn for the heads up on the Feather problem.

I'm going to check my 2008 25F tire clearance today.

Just checked my 25F - 1 3/4" at partial load. I'll see next week after we fill it up for a trip as to what it is a full load. That will give me a good bench mark.

My Feather 25F measures about 1 3/4 to 2 inches with a very light load.(All tanks empty and not packed for a trip).

How are you all doing the measuring?

Should I call Jayco first or my dealer?
