I have a brand new 2008 Jayco TT and am having electrical problems with it. The dealer resolved it the first time out, or so we thought, but the problem still persists. We think there may be something wired wrong.
Anyway, I called Jayco about this over a week ago and they told me it takes up to 7 business days for their service technician to call my dealer's service department back to try to resolve it. They also said they would put my call in as a "priority", and we still have not heard back from them.
Is this normal ???

The air conditioner was running (first time we've used it); then the breaker tripped in the middle of the night and the a/c went off.
The 15-amp breaker also shut off the microwave & kitchen GFGI outlet.
I then plugged in the toaster to the Kitchen GFGI and the same 15 amp breaker tripped, which also shut off the microwave again.
I turned off the a/c unit and put it on again, and it tripped the same breaker in a matter of minutes.
I don't know if I've explained this well. I'm reading from my husband's chicken scratch notes, but he has some knowledge of electrical wiring, and in speaking to the tech from the dealership, they both think something may be miswired.

Sounds like the air conditioner is wired to the same breaker as a few other things. To me, that is a no,no. The air conditioner ought to be on a separate breaker.

I would have to agree on this. The surge from the A/C would trip the GFCI.

I agree with the other answers. Your trailer was wired incorrectly. Probably an easy fix for someone knowledgeable about electrical circuits. All those things should not be on one circuit. My microwave has a separate circuit and the a/c also has a separate circuit.
On the other hand it could be that the a/c is simply defective and pulling too many amps, easily checked with an amp meter.
As for the delay in service time it sounds like poor service. Either the manufacturer is extremely busy or understaffed.

There is no excuse for a delay of seven to ten days to receive factory technical support. If Jayco has so many problems with their products that a technician is ten days behind it's time to add additional problem solvers or make production line changes - maybe both.

I have to agree with the others on the A/C on the wrong circuit. However, I would be bugging my dealer to get it resolved. I would think this should be an easy fix for them.
I had my converter go out on our trailer. Basically made the thing unusable for us. Called the dealer on Monday, and the service tech was at our campground on Friday to replace it.

I believe you are referring to a 30 amp main breaker, I don't think any manufacture is going to put those 3 items on a 15 amp breaker.

I agree with the others that sounds like it is on the wrong breaker. I have tripped my GFCI breaker before and it didn't turn off the AC. The DW had a portable heater running on the kitchen counter and I had an electric skillet plugged in outside when she turned on the microwave and it tripped.
As far as Jayco, I have a Jayco 5ver and have never had a problem with service. It is the dealers responsibility to fix it under warrantee. Just take it to them and tell them to fix it. Their problem as to how they do it. It'll be back before you know it.
I have called Jayco before to ask some questions and got good responses but ultimately the dealer should take care of it for you.
