My wife and I are planning to go fulltiming within a year or so after placing the house on the market next March. Our financial situation will require that we work at least 6 months of the year. We have no idea as what to expect in compensation. If anyone could offer an estimate or range of the expected compensation for these positions for planning purposes, it would greatly help us with our decision.
Husband is retired military and is currently a school teacher and the wife has worked in the banking industry. Both are computer literate and have excellent communication skills. Neither is opposed to light physical work.
Thanks,

I would suggest subscribing to Workamper News now. There are a wide variety of jobs available with different compensation. This way you can get a better idea before making a move. Good luck.

I wold agree with HappyKayakers about the best source of leads. By doing so you can not only learn what is available, but you can also see what is offered in return.

Just to give you an idea- We will be starting work for our 6th summer at 40 hr/wk jobs for about 11 weeks at about $7.50/hr. and the employer will charge us about $5/day for our site. I have found that we can extimate an approximate weekly take-home income of $500. That's both of us working a total of 80 hours and that figure hasn't varied too much over the years and with different jobs. However, many workamper jobs have very different arrangements. Some are more volunteer positions than paying jobs and may pay little if any more than a free site.

Thanks to all who have offered advice.
While on a day trip to Pine Mtn GA. I stopped at the "Pine Mtn Campground" and discussed their workcamper policy.
At present they pay $7.00 per hr for hrs worked. Workcamper pays for their site at the rate of $450.00 per month. They indicated this was a better deal than "working for a free site". Ie.. 25 hrs per week = 100 hrs of work for a site per mo. At $7.00 an hr the site would be costing $700.00 per month. I know there are other things to consider but this did provide another way of looking at the issue.

We have had great fortune by getting a Trailer Life CD at camping world and "shotgunning" RV parks in areas we would like to visit. We include a resume' and a picture of the rig and us. Seems to work more reliably than WKN for us although our first and best job was thru WKN.

For sure I am not against people working, but I find it awful strange that people will quit a better paying job, and take one for 5 bucks an hour just so they can live in an rv.
You can work at any WalMart, McDonalds, Burger King, any vacation park etc and make twice as much and not have to KAA......
Before you take a five dollar and hour job, why dont you look at seasonal work. It is so much better and so much more money.
I am sure my opinion will disagree with many who dont mind being a slave .
