Hello to all:
We are wondering if we use treated wood to place under our tires while it is parked by our house, will the chemicals in the wood deteriorate the tires?

I don't think it will, but if you concerned, put and piece of rug on it or a plastic mat or bag. the drive up on it. Bill

Good question but to date, I haven't noticed the tires having been affected by the pressure treated wood. The wood planks that our 5vr sit on during winter storage have sort of weathered and I don't think that there is much surface treatment left, if any.

I had mine on treated 2x10s for a year and a half with zero affect on the tires... replaced the tires because of age (and my paranoia), but the tires are now on a 3/4 ton work truck and are doing just fine...

I just paint my wood blocks with white paint...It seams to help even treated wood last longer. It also makes them easy to see if I am working with them at night....

I Know I had at least one more leveling block...
Now Where did it go

For 10 yrs, my RV storage has had gravel under one side of the tandem axles and treated boards under the other. My last fiver had two tires fail at different times, one on each side. Also haven't noticed any difference in tire wear, so my experience tells me it makes no difference.

Been parking RVs on treated lumber for approximately 10 years. No problem at all. My tires never touch the ground unless they're on the road or in the campground.

Caution! Birth defects in tires have been known to happen when stored on treated lumber.

Studies by the National Institute of Tire Health have shown that treated wood can cause a certain form of tire cancer too, according to the US Tire General.

Also, tires who are nursing should not consume treated wood, and remember, the legal age for consuming treated wood is 21 in all states. Be prepared to show your ID if your tires look under 30.

Oh, and no tires who have been consuming treated wood should ever operate a motor vehicle or any kind of dangerous equipment, like a torque wrench or hydraulic floor jack.

If your tires are stopped by a law enforcement officer and the officer has reason to believe your tires have been consuming treated wood, they will be required to pass a field inspection and air pressure test. If the tires refuse a field test, they can be arrested and put in tire detention before being sent to Tire Court, which is presided over by the Chief Justice of Tire and Rubber Products.

You have been dually warned (pun intended)...

Like everybody else had said, I haven't had any problems with treated lumber.
