If you change your own oil as I do, what do you do with the old oil? I have accumulated a collection of about 15 gallons of old oil and need to get rid of it.
I was thinking thats close to $138 worth of oil.
Any comments welcome.

My local landfill/recycle center takes it for free...

My company has an oil fired heater in the shop so I pour it in the tank. Before that, the Auto Parts stores and car dealers used to take it.

Yup, mine too. I know that both Charles and my county of Calvert has recycling barrels for both engine oil and antifreeze at the landfill and the satelite collection centers. I have never been told that there is a limit to the amount I may dispose of. A large tanker comes and collects the oil. Hopefully it is indeed recycled into something useful.

I take it to checkers auto store, same place where I bought the new oil.

I take it to the local Jiffylube or other convenience oil-change shop.
In Texas, any business that dispenses oil must accept recycled oil.

I pour mine around stumps in my yard. A little gas and poof...burning stumps out of the ground...lol
I've also used it on dogs with mange, in my chain saw for bar lube, or filtered it with a whole house water filter unit and pump I made in my shop, and add it back to my oil when changing it....5 quarts to fill, add 3 quarts new, 2 quarts filtered, and a new oil filter.
You all do know that oil doesn't wear out...it just gets dirty?
on edit...almost forgot that I also add about a pint of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. It seems to make the oil pressure a little higher and when changing the oil it doesn't look as dirty or have that burnt look.
