Hello,
Next week, we are leaving for our 1st big trip with the HTT. We are very exciting and looking forward to it! My question is since that we live about 5 1/2 to 6 hour from Ocean City, MD and we going to use the propane to run the fridge while we drive down. I am probably going to run the fridge on propane a little over the weekend to make sure everything is working properly.
I am going to start the fridge the night before to cool it down to it's regular running temp with electric and then load it and then start it on gas before we leave. Besides stopping for gas probably once on the way down, is there anything else I should do before or during the trip while I am running on gas for the fridge.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Turn propane off at the gas station and certain tunnels also. Enjoy!

I don't do anything special to mine. The only thing I would suggest since this is your first time instead of starting off with electric, go ahead and use gas. That way you are sure of it's performance before heading out. Also you may want to put a few frozen bottles of water in the fridge "just in case". Be sure battery is charged up and on as it does require 12 volts to work.

I switch to propane and take off. Never worry about it. Some do, I just find it silly. All the running engines around are ignition sources that no one ever worries about. Out of all the nay sayers, not a single one has been able to show where a fridge has ever caused a boom.

We turn ours on day before leaving, and off day after we get home. If we hit a tunnel that requires it to be off, we also turn off for that tunnel.

You know Im more neutral in this matter. I've turned mine off and also left it on at times.
My truck fills fuel on the drivers side of the vehicle and my fridge is on the passenger side of the HTT.
The trailer sits about 5 feet past the gas pumps and again the fridge is on the other side.
I'm sure that they are "NOT" all the same as mine. However, I have never seen a big boom ever in all of my years of driving.
By the book you should probably turn it off.
