I just replaced my two slide out awnings. It was not to bad a job and I did it all myself, So one person can do it if it need to be done. I took mine to a place that makes Canvas for boats and that made them for me. It cost $285 to have the two of them made. If you are in the MI west of Flint the place is J & K Canvas Products on Corrunna Rd just west of Morrish. I have had them do canvas work before and the do good work and no I do not benefit from them in any way.

I used a light rope and wound it around the end of the tube (I raped it 5 times)then took one of the ratchet strap's and hooked to the rope and the bottom edge of slide. Then used the ratchet to pull the rope till the awning was all unwound then after taking out the small screw (the big slide had one on each end) and slide out the awning. I left the ratchet as it was and went and had the awning made. Replacing them was not bad at all. I feed them in a foot or so at a time. First the top and then the end on the roller. I had to move the ladder a few times but it was not a bad job.Hope this helps.
