I want to connect to an existing gravity fed septic tank at my shop in the back forty.
The existing main line is black plastic and the point where I would tap branch into it is about 30-inches underground and at a steep slant.
I don't know what the new run length to drop ratio needs to be for the rv connection.
Can anyone help answer that question?
And I'm guessing the the opening should be encased in concrete.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

1/4" per foot of run, 4" is preferred, Back fill it in sand if you using PVC DWV or it might crush or break. You can pick up a in ground plastic box used for lawn water systems, and put it under ground so you don't moe it level by mistake, That box comes with a man hole cover that is green so it will match pretty good. Being under the ground level you can wash it down if have to, or just close it up and let nature do what it does. JM2Cents Bill
on Edit:
On the 4" PVC it's 1/8 inch per foot of run sorry.

I have a dump in my garage at home. It is a 4" white PVC pipe with a screw on cap. It is just a little lower than the floor so any drips can run into the pipe when hose is removed.

Polishnurse is on the money.if you make your line drop in excess the liquids will seperate and flow towards your tank faster than the solids or paper which means only 1 thing, get the snake out.septic people have told me 1 inch per 10 feet.(oh don't forget your permit)

Okay. . .got that part; 1/4" drop per foot - confirmed by internet search too.
But that raises another question. . .the opening where it goes into the ground should probably go straight down for a distance, no?
How far down?

That would depend, you will down One foot by the time you get out the box with and elbow. The pitch will keep the water sitting, so it shouldn't freeze if that is your concern. And for the most part you won't be doing that much winter dumping. So,,, But a building inspector would want it down 18" or more. I don't think you will be getting permit. and you'll be down below 18 soon enought. Just a note, if you put in 90 degree bends you need a T/Y to put in a clean out, so no bends more then 45 degrees. You can get around that rule by useing what is call a sweep bend, it's a longer radis to allow a roto snake to get thru. - You can get away with 1/8" on a 4" PVC pipe if have to.

Go vertical just enough to make the slant correct for the rest of the run. Anything over that just causes problems as mentioned. Oh yeah, when you get the permit check to make sure you can pour concrete or finish out before the inspection. Sometimes they get picky and that could create work you didn't plan on.

Hey folks, he said he was putting it into an existing line in the back 40, why should he elect to support the local government thieves? Unless he has nasty neighbors and the work is obscured in the back 40, forget any permit.

A dump only line isn't going to be anywhere near as picky for either depth or pitch.
#1, it won't freeze since you only use it for a quick shot emptying the tanks.
#2, nothing will be left behind from too much or too little pitch because you'll be following the black tank dump with a gray tank dump.

I put in a sewer dump on the outside of my polebarn a few years back. Ran 100 feet of 4 inch PVC to septic tank. Sloped 1/2" for each 10 foot length. Started with a cleanout, then two dumps about 20 feet apart with screw on covers, then another cleanout about half way to the septic tank.
BTW, what's a permit?
