Got my new parts from Fan-tastic, got it all installed. I must say, the customer service was again absolutely excellent, and the new fan totally makes my rv'ing week. I had been toying with the idea of an alternative replacement, but now that I have done business with them directly, absolutely no regrets at all. Fit and finish better than the original.

For those who don't know me, I pitch fits regularly, often, and fully flame-on whenever I encounter bad pricing, poor design, low quality, or lack of service. But I also like to give it up for those who know their business and treat their customers right. Wish I got more opportunities to hand out brownie buttons than I do, but these people are real standouts. They made absolutely no attempt to justify earlier problems, defend the product, or blame the user. They just plain got it right - and that has earned my loyalty as a customer. The other vendors in the industry should take a lesson.

I've mentioned this before, but I left one of the "unprotected" fans open, (no rain guard) in the wind stream, on a trip out west, and told them so. I told them I essentially broke it. The guy I spoke with didn't want to "hear" any of it. He simply said it shouldn't have broke. I had to try and tell him one more time I broke it. He ignored me and told me the parts would arrive in a couple of days.

I was told that by them that they expect their fans to stand up to 90 MPH, period. They had their stuff tested in a wind tunnel. Apparently, they considered yours to have failed, no matter what you did to help it along. Mine are just plain old, yet I got the same treatment.

I was also told these have been used in some stationary housing with very good results.

They were VERY smart to keep their own parts standardized and mostly plastic. Probably got their production costs way, wayyyyy down. I have worked for companies that would go far out of their way to redesign standardized parts for absolutely no purpose beyond jacking the end price up and forcing you to buy replacement parts from them at grossly inflated prices. And they kept it all simple. No weird membership, no mailing list, mail-in rebates - just the good stuff.

Since my vents were 11 years old, I offered to pay for the replacements and they wouldn't hear of it. I then offered to pay for the shipping, but still they repeated it was no cost to me. These folks have set a new standard when it comes to customer service.

Well, well...Now, I'm not so happy. During that whole trip I never had the RV a "mile per hour" over 85, 86 tops. Sheezz, you'd think it wouldn't break under 90 then. I may never get to talk to them again, but if I do, I'll sure mention I wasn't doing 90...

Come on now Don, you forgot to allow for a head wind, 85 MPH+5 MPH head wind=90 MPH or one broken fan.
