I have a Dometic model RM2652 in the unit listed in my sig. I used it all last week but the "check" light never went off. The frig seemed to work just fine but the check light remained on. I switched from auto to gas with no change.
Does anyone have thoughts on what I should look at?
Thanks!

I have the same fridge. It supposed to automatically switch from AC power to gas when electricity is dropped. The "check" light I thought was supposed to come on when the fridge couldn't light the propane burner. I am not sure if the "check" indicator light would also come on if the fridge couldn't maintain a minimum temperature. This may be the cause of it too. Check the interior temp with a thermometer and see if it's getting down to at least 45 degrees.
...it may be an ECM failure. The Dometic fridges have a history of troublesome controller boads!

I have checked the temp and it is around 43 to 45 degrees regardless if I am on gas or electric. This morning I am going to check the vents to make sure there is no obstruction and although I popped the outside panel before I will again check everything behind it again.
I purchased my trailer used and there was no manual for the frig. Does anyone know exactly what the check light indicates?

Check Lite on a Dometic refer is an indication that the Refer did NOT lite when LP was called for. It will still work and go to 120 Electric, but the check lite stays on so you know that it failed on LP. You then find and fix the LP problem. The failure of LP lighting is the only reason the check lite comes on. Doug

Also, if you have an LP gas detector with a shut-off at the tank, check the detector to be sure it's on. Check the propane level.

Just a reminder that you might want to check the Dometic website with your serial number in hand ( it's on the door frame) as that model number is part of the 3/08 recall.

Dometic is updating their website, and obviously are not finished. You should be able to download the manual from them, but I can't find any links to manuals. Link to their Customer Support. Contact them and they should send you one via email.
Link to Service Tips for your model.
Link to Recall Thread. It's a Sticky in the Tech Issues forum. There are links in it to more info, and one to the Dometic Recall site where you can verify that yours is included.

heavyequipmentmover is right. When you manually shut off and then repower the fridge the test rechecks. If you are on electric it will probably work, if your gas problem is solved it will probably work. But if your gas problem is still there it will warn you. Maybe if you go in for the Dometic recall they will fix it up since you are going in anyway.
My TT fridge (04 Dometic RM 2652?) never worked on gas from the day I bought it til I had it serviced by a very experienced RV tech. He reset and calibrated all my gas appliances. That was 4 years ago, still good!

I don't have a new generation nor will ever have a Dometic product again. There is a 'Recall' out on MANY Dometic refers. A design problem exists that could allow the gas flame area to overheat and rupture a component allowing propane to leak into the flame area and burn everything down. Dometics 'FIX' for this is to install a heat sensor and Heat/Fire deflector shield. In the best case... Dometic is 'HOPING' the sensor will be triggered by any overtemp condition caused by their poor design and it'll shut off 12VDC leaving you with no refer capability. In the WORST case, the sensor will detect the FIRE and shut the refer down BECAUSE its on fire. Hopefully you won't be asleep or away when the RV burns down. Apparently there is no desire to redesign and FIX THE PROBLEM!
