Thanks for all of the feedback!

I verified on the Dometic website that my unit is one of the recalled units. I have an appointment to take it in next week to the service facility that I always use. They happen to an approved service location.

I will let them apply the fix and make sure that everything is in order.

Once again thanks for all of the help!

While u'r there, see if U can get em to explain exactly how this "FIX" is intended to keep the original design from causing a fire. I sure would likle to hear how.

It's pretty straight forward- the burner area is enclosed completely with sheet metal, which will contain any flame, there are 2 thermal fuses added- one for flame and one for simple over heating. Both will shut the power down in case of failure. The recall kit has gone through a *lot* of testing to make sure it does what it needs to do to prevent a fire.
