I'm looking for a light weight travel trailer to tow with my Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I don't like the Tab or the Chalet, but I'm looking for something around 3000 pounds or less. I'm familiar with the fiberglass rvs such as the Casita, Scamp, and Boler. I was looking for something around 17ft. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated as I have 1. never towed anything with my truck, and 2. I'm single and will be setting it all up myself. Thanks very much, Julie

Try the R-Vision line. There is the Bantam Flyer 17F and the C17 that both come in around 2800 lbs. I had a Bantam and towed with a Mazda Tribute with no problems at all. I sold the combo when we started camping with my daughter and needed the extra room.

What year is your Tacoma? Does it have a 6 cylinder?

Fun Finder makes a few 18fters aroud 3000 lb. My 18FBS is around 3300, the slide-out adds about 300lbs.

What year is your Tacoma? If it's an 05+ and it will only be you or one other person you can actually go a little bigger on the trailer to open up some more options.

Try the forums over at Tacoma World or Toyota Nation as there are lots of people that tow with the Tacoma over there.

Julie,
Check out this 17' Airstream. I saw one a couple of weeks ago in a CG being pulled by a 4Runner. At that time I thought. "what a neat TT for someone single."
Airsteam makes a high end, high quality TT; a little pricey, but in this case you get what you pay for. They can outlast any other TT.
Regardless of what you get, I would recommend a weight distribution hitch and a transmission cooler. Good luck.

look at what we have a Jayco 165 feather sport, #2800 dry #3500 max.
towed last year with a Seinna . It was just OK this year have a Tundra and may have gone too far as far as a TV . A Tacoma would be just the right truck for it
