Alas, we are a society that seems addicted to bad news and I think the addiction tends to paralyze us all. While I am conscious of what is going on, I have turned off the daily grind of negative media reporting--knowing full well that as soon the election is over--depending on who wins, the bad news will become good news.
I'm sure none of us are unconscious of the failure of many RV builders--at least since I can remember, everything cycles.
I am much more concerned for the plight of my children who must drive to and from work, ferry children here and there than I am my ability to own and enjoy my RV. I don't HAVE to go anywhere--many other Americans do and I feel for them.

I agree with your statement about the younger folks having to drive to work etc.

This discussion should probably not be in a classA forum
By definition most class A owners are insulated from the realities of todays economic turmoil.

I dont think that the average thirty year old, juggling a motgage, vehicle payments and the cost of kids is too worried about what happens to Winnibago.

If the present trends continue, the younger generation will do their rving with a back pack and a tent from K-Mart.

Cycles...everything goes in cycles. And that is not a bad thing.

I see Damon Corp, who only made class A coaches, is designing a fleet of class Cs. I think they should include B coaches also.

The MH industry is not the only one hurting. I am in a subsidiary of the "non mobile" home industry. It ain't good there either!

Just think RV's made by Samsonite Luggage

I live in the town where the Samsonite headquarters is located. However, there is no manufacturing here any more. That was moved out of the country several years ago. Don't be surprised if the MH industry follows! JMHO!

The one MH company from down under plans to make a Samsonite like house in China and ship it to the US to be mounted on a chassis. That was in another thread about the MH industry in Australia.

My apologies to the late Charleton Heston but the oil companies can make me give up my motor home when they pry the steering wheel from my cold dead hands. This is my life's dream and I've worked too hard too long to not be able to enjoy it now. I will cut back in other places in order to be able to do it. Maybe I will start with forums about how bad the r.v. industry is and the high price of fuel.
