I will not ever completely fill my tanks until I'm close to my destination for this specific reason. There's alot of bouncing around going on back there with at least 600lbs of water. Good luck

Unless you were boondocking and no water was avalible at your location it is not a good idea to carry a full tank of anything, Our fresh water tank is 63 Gallons that would be @ 523 lbs bouncing up and down in there. We just had to replace a black tank because of a leak and the bill was 729.00..covered by a extended service contract

jsinger years ago my fathers blackwater tank fell off of his 5er while up at Knobels Amusement park CG. That wasn't bad enough he also burned out both axle bearings on the same trip. We never put any water in our holding tanks going to a campground. we just carry an igloo cooler inside our truck for drinking.

I think I'll just keep carrying a full tank of water from home when we boondock and keep enjoying a fifth wheel that's built so that the tanks don't fall out!

I have only rv,d for 20 years or so .What do you watch for?? Watch you water pump ,it will vibrate fittings loose,caught it before any damage!!Anyone got some hints as to their experiences what to keep an eye on??

I agree. I've never traveled with the fresh water tank more than 1/4 full. The waste holding tanks are generally emptied before moving on. At 8 lbs/gallon plus the weight of waste material in the black tank, that poundage can add up fast. If a full fresh water tank is needed for boondocking, try filling close to your destination if possible.

I know how you feel.
I was driving along HWY 401 (Interstate) in Ontario when a guy pulls up beside me and starts pointing frantically at the the rear of my Jayco Eagle.
I pull over and expect a low or flat tire problem. I couldn't believe my eyes, the water tank had broken through the supports and was hanging about 3 inches off the Hyw on the gas line that goes to the kitchen stove (rear kitchen). The tank pulled all the wiring etc out as well. That was the end of our holiday. I managed to find a RV dealer ( thanks to our GPS) near by and left the trailer for basic repairs to enable me to get it back to our Jayco Dealer.I have pictures but I'm not sure how to add them to this forum.
Our dealer didn't seem to concerned about the problem, even when I explained that the tank could of come out and killed someone.
Typical snail's pace after service repairs punctuated with legal threats got our dealer to repair the RV within 6 weeks.
Jayco took another 3 months to forward a check ($130.00) to cover my out of pocket repairs.
The memories.....priceless.
But another Jayco.....never.

My tank sagged so bad that I couldn't drain (located on the side) more than half the tank or pump out half of the water since that was also located on the side. I called Cruiser and complained, seems that they agree that putting 2-3 more pieces of angle iron had fixed the problem on other rigs. They also suggested putting a piece of plywood against the tank. Since my dealer is 2 hours away I only take him my rig once a year to fix and he can fix that then. For now I added 4 14 gauge pieces of aluminum angle iron and 1 12 gauge (the kind with the holes pre drilled) and attached it with 1/4 self tapping screws. Took less than an hour once I forcefully drained the tank. I brought it all the way to Maine from Ohio full and didn't see any sagging or any problems. I was afraid the factory straps would break and it would fall.
