Nick, I'm not using a destacker at this point because I'm using a single unit and the instructions didn't call for it unless using multiple boxes. It's worth a try...

Are you using the KVH 12v RECIEVER or the MULTI SERVICE INTERFACE BOX?
You must use the multi service box with Dish Net in order to use your 311 box.
If you are only trying to use your home receiver, it wont comunicate with the dish.
Nick-
OK, I am so un-tech it is sad, but I thought many folks just took their home receiver to the MH when they are on the road. Does this last sentence say you can't do that?

The newer antenna's like the KVH R models, use the coaxel cable to carry electric to the antenna. Hence, a single coaxel to the roof unit and no power cables. The electricity needs to be removed with a destacking splitter before a home reciever can be used.
The R antenna's come with either a 12v reciever or a multi use controller which controls the operation of the antenna.
