Last time I checked, all nitro cars have had two parachutes for at least ten years. One must have failed.

Seems to me that E-town might want to consider not running full 1/4-mile races for the fuel cars...maybe restrict Top Fuel and Fuel Funny Car to 1/8 mile drags.

Alternately, what about some sort of shock-absorbing barriers? Maybe something like the tire barriers NASCAR and F1 uses? Even a big row of water-filled barrels, maybe?

You can't survive hitting that at 250mph.

Which is why it needs to be a thicker, more-absorbing barrier than the F1 or NASCAR barriers. Barrels of water have a heck of a lot more give than a concrete wall.

I dont think the NHRA will ever have another event at E-town.An announcement will be coming soon,I dont have any links but just wait and see.

Hitting water at 250mph will kill you.
