I have read in this forum of some RVers having problems with holding tanks not cleaning out good after the tanks are dumped. While at the FMCA rally I found some stuff that disolves all solids and turns it back into water. It also keeps odors away. The stuff that I found is called Happy Camper. If anybody is interested I just ordered some more since we run out. I got it ordered through Goggle. No charge for delivery.

I was turned on to "Happy Camper" holding tank treatment by an RV park owner while camping in S. Oregon. As good as this stuff is, it has a comparatively lower per treatment cost than other similar products. It also turns out the company that makes this great product is located in S. Oregon just 30 miles away from where we camped and about the same distance from where DW and I reside which ensures I can always find Happy Camper available before we start our camping season.
I want to leave this earth quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the hysterical, screaming passengers riding in granddad's RV just before the big crash.

a black tank is a holding tank, not a septic tank. just dump using lots of water and install a tank sprayer.

Jim, does the Geo Method really work?? I don't necessarily believe what I read all the time, and it'd be nice to get it from someone who has actually tried it and is still using it. Since I'm having a problem with my black tank sensor always reading 1/3 full, I'd like to try something different other then just another chemical treatment.

Hi Solojoe,
I started using the Bio-method exclusively this season and it does work.
I’ve used Clorox and laundry detergent in the past in our TTs and the coach for years without any problems. IMO it’s the water softener in the Bio-method that does the trick by keeping everything slippery and breaking down the solid waste.
It may very well resolve your gauge issue since it really does help keep the tanks clean.
Remember to add the treatment prior to starting down the road. The solution sloshing around as you roll down road is the answer.
Like the old commercial says, try it your like it.
Good luck

SOFT water has NOTHING TO DO with breaking down solid waste in your holding tank!! But water softner products AND "detergents" can definately assist in keeping the tank sensors clean(er)

I read about the GeoMethod when I first got out MH 3 years ago, and was having trouble with the sensors showing 1/3 - 2/3 full even after having drained, backwashed, etc. I used the GeoMethod, put water softner, bleach and plenty of water in on a Friday before we left on a trip to NC. After we arrived and set up, I didn't dump till the tanks were full. After dumping I checked and it appeared there was no change, however after I checked about 15 min later the sensors read empty. I have used the GeoMethod ever since. I put in the mix before leaving on a trip and have had no trouble since. I only use it about every 8 - 10 dumps and I have found that it still takes about 15 minutes to show empty. I think that is the time it takes the water to dry off the sensors on mine, but I really believe it works.
