99% of the time if you have problems its because of to much tp, not enough water, or a combination of both.

chemicals are unnecessary. the tanks will produce their own bacteria which is more than capable of doing the job. the only time i use any chemicals is in hot climates for odor control.

OK! That is fine with me. I can see some don't care if they stink up the neighborhood when dumping or if the black tank plugs up. They would rather use a fishline so that is fine also.
Lets close this thread that I started, it is a waste of time to try and help. Once the negative comments start coming in, it is best to close it up.

just because everyone doesn't think that happy camper is the greatest thing and not necessary does not make a thread useless. and as Sully pointed out, the black tank is just a temporary holding tank, not a septic tank. I don't go that long between dumping my black tank for it to work like a septic tank.

Ok, I've decided to go with the Geo Method, since I don't have a problem with clogs or odors, just sensing liquid levels. I just got back from a Coachmen Rally and talked to a lot of people including one of the managers of Coachmen. They all agree that the sensing systems are far from perfect on most if not all RV's. So with that in mind and the chemicals I've been using have been doing what they say they will do, control order and break down solids. I think its time to try the Geo Method and see if that will help out my sensing problem. Now finding Calgon water softener was a problem, but finally came across a supplier on the web. Drugstore.com has 32 oz bottles for $7.99. I've ordered two bottles and will try the Geo Method on my next trip in two weeks. As of right now, the sensors are reading correct....empty... which the tanks are. I've backwashed and sprayed and got them to read empty. We will now see what happens.
