I want to go from Sidney, NE to Cody, WY and would like a nice ride. We have gone from Buffalo via 16 and over the Big Horns which was very nice, but this time I was thinking something flater. Like through Casper....And how about a good campground in the middle???

you could go north on 385 to chadron and then west on 20 to I-25 and on into Casper.
Chadron State Park is very nice, with elec hookups, water and dump station.
Ft. Robinson State Park is not as pretty in my opinion, but lots of history there.
or you could go north on 385 to 26 west at Bridgeport and follow the oregon trail through old ft. laramie.
Guernsey WY has some very good wagon wheel ruts, easy to get to and view.
Guernsey State Park is nearby, or up the road from there is Glendo State Park.
North of Shoshoni WY are some state parks. the one below the dam looks like the prettiest.

My 2 cents take 385 north to Bridgeport 26 and 92 west through Chimney Rock N.H.S. and Scotts Bluff Nat.Mon.continue 26 to I-25 pass Fort Laramie N.H.S. north to Casper west 20/26 to Shoshoni north 20/789 to Thermopolis this will put you pass Hell's Half Acre,Wind River Canyon,Wyoming Dinosaur Center and Hot Springs S.P. in Thermopolis northwest 120 to Cody. With stops Casper would be a good stop it's 232 miles from Sidney and has 3 campgrounds listed with FHS,If you want to push it Thermopolis is 362 miles and also has 4 FH camps to chose from
